Event Details

Encountering a giant sea bass is an exhilarating experience when diving in California and
Mexico. However, little is known about their current population size, their spatial patterns, and ecology. Marine scientists at the Benioff Ocean Science Laboratory at UC Santa Barbara are hoping to answer critically important research questions about these charismatic fish through the Spotting Giant Sea Bass Project – a community science effort that uses divers’ photographs to identify and track individual giant sea bass. Join us to hear about our updates and how you can contribute to important research on a critically endangered species!
