Dueling pianos brought down the house at The Federal. People took home great prizes while we raised money for Plastic Pollution Coalition.

DOOR PRIZE DRAWINGS

We gave away over $42,000 of prizes, including scuba diving gear, trips to destinations near and far, and the hottest accessories.

TRY SCUBA DIVING

Attendees were able to experience the weightless feeling of scuba diving for the first time. They gave diving a try for free in a pool right in the exhibit hall.

Captain John Kades

Captain John Kades has been an investigator/deputy coroner for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office since October 2000. He has been a member of the department’s Special Operations Response Team and has specialized in disaster operations, aircraft fatalities, drowning/SCUBA cases, and skeletal/buried body cases. As a member of the California State Coroner’s Association, Captain Kades serves on the Association’s coroner curriculum development committee that recommends training standards for death investigations.

Cathryn Castle Garcia and Capt. Gui Garcia

Cathryn Castle Garcia and Gui Garcia are veteran scuba instructors who own C2G2 Productions, specializing in underwater 8k film production. Cathryn has served as executive editor of Dive Training magazine for over 20 years and is the managing editor of California Diving News. In addition to being a photographer and filmmaker, Gui is a yacht captain. The couple recently published their first book, Ocean Metaphor: Unexpected Life Lessons from the Sea.

Dan Orr

Dan Orr is President of Dan Orr Consulting. He recently retired from the position of President of Divers Alert Network (DAN) and Chairman of the Board of International DAN. Prior to DAN, he taught recreational diving, collected data and supervised research efforts in the field of science diving, tested diving equipment for military contractors and worked for or served on the Boards of not-for-profit organizations including the Historical Diving Society, Diving Equipment & Marketing Association (DEMA), Academy of Underwater Arts & Sciences, The Institute of Diving, and others.
