DISCOVERING AND IDENTIFYING NEW SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WRECKS

We spent the past five years during and since Covid researching, discovering, identifying, and documenting new, never-seen-before wrecks here in Southern California. To date, we have documented over fifteen new wrecks that include both shipwrecks and historical airplane wrecks. In addition, we have been using modern technology (photogrammetry) to document the more well-known wrecks.
This presentation will describe how we find the new wrecks and use photography and photogrammetry to help identify the wreck once it is discovered. I will present at least 5 new wrecks that we have discovered, including a couple since the last presentation in 2023.
